On June 30th, 2020, Martin State airport will be performing routine maintenance and inspection activities on a fire suppression water storage tank. It is estimated that the entire process of draining, inspecting, and refilling the tank will take between 7 to 10 hours. This tank serves several tenants at Martin State Airport (MTN) and supplies part of the runway hydrant system. There will be no interruptions to fire protection water in residential areas. The nearby fire departments are being informed of the areas affected so they can be aware.
As a result of these activities, residents may experience some discoloration or cloudiness in the domestic water for a brief period. This would be a result of sediment being disturbed in the water pipe during refilling activities but poses no harm. If you experience any discoloration or cloudiness it is recommended that you run water through the faucet until it returns to clear.
